VACANCIES

ASSOCIATE VICAR

St Stephen’s Tonbridge is a large and active evangelical church, which has a vision to grow. We are looking to appoint an Associate Vicar to join us at a particularly exciting time, as we approach the 2nd year of our 5-year strategy and are part of a strategic bid by the Diocese to help the church to grow younger.

We are offering:

  • A leading role in developing a worshipping community of young adults and families.
  • Inclusion in services and pastoral care across the wider congregation.
  • Involvement in the future development of our strategic plan.
  • The support of a committed and friendly staff and volunteer team
  • The opportunity to become part of the local community in a popular area of Kent, with easy access to London and the countryside and a range of good and outstanding schools.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A heart for encouraging discipleship and spreading the gospel to younger adults.
  • An understanding of and experience in building relationships with this age group.
  • An interest in working with others to develop and lead a new worshipping community.
  • Experience of working with volunteers in building, inspiring, leading and equipping teams.
  • The desire to work collaboratively as part of the wider staff team.
  • And the management experience to successfully oversee and co-ordinate those areas of ministry relating to young adults and their families, as part of the leadership team.
