CONNECTING DURING COVID

On a normal week St Stephen’s would be bustling with multiple services, our café, youth and children’s events, and much more. So what’s happing now?

Now that all our buildings and regular activities are closed, you may be wondering how you can connect with us. Here are nine (yes, nine) ways…

ONLINE SERVICES

We’re continuing to worship together on Sundays via our online services! The service starts at 10.30am and will be available on the St Stephen’s YouTube channel. When the live-stream has finished it will stay on the channel from then on so you can watch it any time (if you are able, please subscribe to the channel to ensure you don’t miss anything).

AFTER-SERVICE COFFEE

This is fast becoming one of our favourite times of the week! As our online service finishes (approx. 11.15am) we all head to Zoom to catch up with each other. This is for our church family only, and we send the link out every Friday, but if you aren’t receiving yours please get in contact with us
(details at the bottom of this page).

YOUTH & CHILREN’S VIDEOS

Every Sunday and Wednesday we’re posting videos on our YouTube channel as part of our online Kids Club. Come along and join in the stories, singing, games and crafting!

Meanwhile, our youth are are posting videos as they read through Mark’s gospel together, with a different member of the youth group or leader doing the daily reading and a thought.

YOUTH ON ZOOM

Our young people are continuing to meet throughout this lock-down period, albeit in a different way from usual. Every Tuesday and Friday evening they are on Zoom, where they play silly games (guess who’s baby picture and I-spy have been particular favourites so far!), share how they’re getting on and pray for one another.

CONNECT GROUPS

Our Connect Groups are small groups within the larger St Stephen’s church family. Lots of our Connect Groups are finding different ways to meet during the shutdown. It’s a brilliant way of staying connected and looking out for one another. If you are part of our church family and would like to join a Connect Group please get in contact with us.

POST ON OUR PRAYER WALL

We love to pray, and if there is something you would like us to pray for you, why not post something on online our Prayer Wall. Anything you post won’t go online immediately as it goes to one of our pastoral team first. But please do post, and pray (and click Pray) for others.

DAILY REFLECTIONS ON FACEBOOK LIVE

At 9am every Monday to Saturday you can join us for a Bible reading and a time of reflection on Facebook Live. This is mostly done by our vicar Mark, but also involves some others on our team.

WELCOME COFFEE ON ZOOM

Since the start of lockdown we’ve had loads of new people joining us for online services, our daily reflections, etc. So if you are new to St Stephen’s and would like to meet us, we’re regularly hosting a Welcome Coffee on Zoom for anyone who is new. Some of our team will be there so you can get to know them, and find out more about the church. Our next Welcome Coffee is at 2.30pm on Sunday 17th May. You will need to register in advance for this; to register please visit our event page.

THE ALPHA COURSE ON ZOOM

With so much uncertainty and change, this is a time when lots of people are asking questions about life. If that sounds familiar, the Alpha Course is for you. We’re currently looking at starting an online Alpha Course through Zoom. You will need to register in advance for this; to register please visit our event page.

So please do join us where you feel able. And if you want some support or want someone to talk to, please get in contact (details at the bottom of this page).
