LIVING WELL

Living Well Tonbridge is a community hub helping those who are isolated, disadvantaged or vulnerable. Our goal is to open our church doors to everyone in our community. To be a warm and welcoming space that can offer friendship, fun and practical support to those who need it.

We are building relationships with a number of other local agencies to deliver support and local groups to offer social activities, and we will bring you more news about this as we continue to grow.

Our café

Being hospitable to others is a big thing for us, so a lot of what we do is based around our café, set within the beautiful setting of St Stephen’s. Opening times vary, so for more information, please visit our café page.

Our café is open on Tuesday and Thursdays from 10am to 1pm

On Tuesdays and Thursdays our café is open from 10am to 1pm serving tea, filter coffee and cakes. Plus we also have a very tasty lunch menu! You’re very welcome to meet others for a drink, drop in with a book or find a table, log in to our guest Wi-Fi and do some work. All are welcome.

On Tuesdays our café has a very tranquil feel about it. People drop in for coffee throughout the morning, plus we also host Betty’s Craft Group. In addition, our friends from Tonbridge Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Porchlight (the local homeless charity), and Crosslight (debt advice) run drop-in clinics*.

* Sometimes these drop-in clinics can get busy which may mean they ask you to make a future appointment.

On Thursdays, alongside the café we also run a really popular play space for pre-school-aged children, with a variety of toys and activities available. This is a great place to meet other parents/carers while little ones have lots of fun.

Community Larder

We’re also open on Saturday mornings from 10am to midday when we run a Feast Fresh Community Larder, plus our café is also open.

Our Feast Fresh Community Larder is where families and individuals on low incomes are able to access fresh produce and groceries to take home. To find out more and to book to come to our larder, please visit the FEAST Fresh website.

Our café is open on Saturday mornings too, serving tea, filter coffee and cakes. And, once-a-month (usually the fourth Saturday in the month) the team from Tonbridge Repair Café are with us from 10am to 12.30pm, offering to repair electrical, mechanical, wooden, and textile items, plus bike repairs and knife sharpening. To find out more or to register your visit in advance, please visit the Tonbridge Repair Café website.

Volunteer with us

None of the work we do would take place without the support of our dedicated team of volunteers. Volunteering is good fun, and a great way of making friends, learning new skills and increasing confidence. Full training is given, so if you feel you might like to volunteer for one of our community projects, please contact the St Stephen’s Church office via the contact details below.
