CONNECT GROUPS

Connect Groups are at the heart of St Stephen’s. A Connect Group is a small group of people that meets regularly to build lasting friendships and grow spiritually.

Following the Covid pandemic and associated restrictions, our Connect Groups continue to meet in a variety of ways – including in person, on Zoom and (weather permitting) in gardens.

Our Connect Groups welcome new members, so if you would like us to help you find the right Connect Group for you or to find out more, please do get in touch at: office@ststephens.org.uk or telephone the Church Office on 01732 771977.

What are Connect Groups?

Connect Groups are small groups of people within the family of St Stephen’s Church who aim to deepen friendship and encourage one another to grow in faith. They meet throughout the week in the daytime and evening, mostly in homes but also in the church and at other venues in the Tonbridge area. Connect Groups area circles of close friends where burdens can be shared and joys celebrated together. Groups also meet socially and sometimes come together to organise events, for example, a Christmas party, within the church and wider community.

Why join a Connect Group?

St Stephen’s is a large and growing church and with the best will in the world it’s easy to get lost.

God did not want us to be isolated and created us in community to enjoy the companionship of others. It is no coincidence that before he started his ministry, the first practical thing Jesus did was to call together a small band if disciples. Gathering the whole church family together for collective worship is fantastic and inspiring but small groups enable us to connect with God and with each other in a more personal way.
